A Bit About Us

Common Sense Security (CSS) was founded and is operated by Christopher Porta and Fidel
Estrada. They have a combined total of over 60 years in law enforcement and high-end security
experience. Both have earned awards in their fields of expertise for exceptional service over the
years. They have been a part of the private security business for decades and have gained
experience domestically and abroad. Christopher and Fidel realize that Southwest Florida has
many security companies, however, the majority of them are not based in this region.
When some large security companies arrived in Southwest Florida, they quickly realized that
there is a strong desire and need by communities to have security monitoring their properties.
Christopher and Fidel have worked with the top two largest security companies globally and the
third largest nationally, within the last five years. What became very obvious to Christopher and
Fidel was that the energy and emphasis these companies started with, became lost within
months of these companies attaining new clients. There is a such a large demand for
professional and competent security companies. However, these companies shifted their focus
on providing a satisfactory service to expanding their portfolios by acquiring as many clients as
possible at the sacrifice of their service quality. Unfortunately, for them and their clients, their
service deteriorated quickly.
Common Sense Security is here to provide a different brand from the security companies that
have inundated this region. They will accomplish this simply by the fact that Christopher and
Fidel have lived and worked in Southwest Florida for decades. They have the knowledge an
experience to provide exceptional access control to communities. Southwest Florida deserves a
team of highly qualified, well trained, and experienced access control agents. CSS is prepared to
provide this service. By resisting immediate expansion of the CSS company, being locally based,
our exceptional response and attention will be possible. Staffing for each of the contracted
hours is a primary goal and achievable with Common Sense Security.
